WBC, Ring Magazine and Lineal Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) and British top fighter and former two-time former world champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) will bring together on May 7 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Amir Khan Fight Card:

Patrick Teixeira vs. Curtis Stevens, Middleweight, 10 rounds
Mauricio Herrera vs. Frankie Gomez, Welterweight, 10 rounds
David Lemieux vs. Glen Tapia, Middleweight, 10 rounds
Canelo Alvarez vs. Amir Khan, Catchweight (155 pounds), 12 rounds
The first fight begins at 9 p.m. ET on HBO PPV.
The boxing lover are surprised at Khans taking challenge against Canelo. Khan said,
‘‘It’s the strongest I’ve been for any fight, having that little bit of extra weight can only give me that extra advantage in getting power but the speed is still there. All round I feel so much stronger as a fighter. I’ve sparred a lot of rounds with heavier guys and I’ve done a lot of strength work in my legs by training on sand to help with the later rounds.’’

‘‘The speed is still there but this fight will be more mental–I have to win it with my brains. I can’t let my courage take over because it could get me in trouble, it has in the past, but I’m much smarter and wiser now.’’
Amir Khan wants some big fights to move on his career. He says, “It was hard for me to motivate myself when I was fighting these other fighters. No disrespect to Algieri, or the other fighters I fought. I’ve always expected the big fights against like Mayweather, against Pacquiao, and when those fights aren’t happening it’s hard for me to motivate myself. And now it’s come to a time where it’s the biggest fight of my career against someone like Canelo where I know I can’t make a mistake so this is such a big motivation for me…I’ve always been asking for a big fight, and my time has come now so I’m not one to just let it go and get beat.”
Canelo vs Khan can be a big opportunity for him. And he is strong enough to take that challenge. “I want to prove to people this is where I belong. Putting the weight on… it’s not slowed down the speed one bit.’’

Canelo makes the first defense of his WBC and Lineal Middleweight World Championship crown – that he won against Puerto Rican rival Miguel Cotto last November – at the catchweight of 155lbs, but now must match his power and ferocious combination punching against Khan’s lightning fast and power-packed fists.
For British ace Khan, 31 wins, 3 losses and 19 KO’s, he faces the biggest challenge of his life when he steps up in weight to take on Canelo in a truly career defining fight.

As a professional he’s marked himself out as one of the most exciting fighters in the sport with his electrifying performances.  Khan’s won his last five fights in a row following a loss to unified super lightweight world champion Danny Garcia, including exciting wins over former world champion Luis Collazo, former three-time world champion Devon Alexander and heads into the May 7 mega-fight with a victory over former world champion Chris Algieri last time out in May 2015.
“I’m delighted and proud that the biggest fight of the year between Khan and Canelo will be broadcast exclusively live in the UK on BoxNation,” said Frank Warren, Chairman of BoxNation.  “We’ve had a tremendous year so far with five out of the top ten world’s best fighters all showcasing their talents on the Channel Of Champions and now the fantastic addition of Canelo vs. Khan.  The fight has caught the imagination of the public because Khan is taking a huge risk by moving up a couple of weight divisions to face one of the most fearsome fighters in the world in Canelo.  It’s a fascinating clash that has got the public, trade and media all split. Can Amir overcome the odds and use his fast feet and hands to overcome the raw aggression and power of Canelo?  UK fight fans will be able to find out only on BoxNation.”

“The fight against Canelo is the biggest challenge of my career and having the support of my fans back home, watching live on BoxNation, is going to help inspire me to victory,” said Amir Khan.  “This fight is going to have it all – speed, power, skill – and I’m going to give everything to make sure that it’s my hand that is raised come the end of the night. Canelo vs Khan Live: The Brit challenges for the WBC world middleweight title on May 7 – and it could be his durability that sees him over the line
Amir Khan continues to prepare for the biggest fight of his life when he faces Mexican Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas for the WBC world middleweight title on May 7. Watch Canelo vs Khan live online.
The Brit has stepped up two weight divisions for the bout, which is the highest profile of his career so far following failure to entice either Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao into a fight before their retirements.
Khan is confident he will not sacrifice any of his trademark speed despite the step up in weight, but it could be his durability that sees him over the line.
Bookmaker Sports Interaction has crunched the numbers and found Khan’s best chance of victory may be to take his opponent 12 rounds.
Four of Khan’s last five fights have been won by unanimous decision, while Canelo has stopped two of his last five opponents inside the scheduled distance.
Alvarez also has a 67 per cent knockout ratio, and would be the favourite if the fight is stopped before its natural conclusion.

The 155-pound catchweight bout between Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) and Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) will take place next month on May 7th at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV.  Canelo is the heavy favorite, but Khan is the underdog who remains confident ahead of the biggest fight of his career and the two boxers are preparing for their first bout of 2016. The fight is for Alvarez’s RING and WBC titles. The bout will be on HBO PPV.

Fight: Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan

When: Saturday, May 7 @ 9:00 p.m. ET/ 6:00 p.m. PT

Where: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, NV

TV: HBO will broadcast “Canelo vs Khan

Saul “Canelo” Álvarez, 25, is the biggest star at this moment. He won the vacant WBC, The Ring and lineal middleweight titles in his last fight by defeating Miguel Cotto with a unanimous decision on Nov 21, 2015. On Sep 14, 2013 Canelo faced off Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and lost his WBC and The Ring light middleweight titles. This was his only lost of his boxing career. Alvarez defeated James Kirkland by a third round knockout on May 9, 2015. He is the most powerful boxer now and is willing to fight against Amir Khan.
Amir “King” Khan, 29, is a two-time former world champion and he currently holds the WBC Silver welterweight title. The speed star scored remarkable wins over two-time Olympic gold medalist Mario Kindelán and future world champion Victor Ortiz. He also wins over nine world champions, including Marcos Maidana, Julio Díaz, Chris Algieri, Paulie Malignaggi, Devon Alexander, and Zab Judah.
Álvarez will defend his lineal, Ring and WBC middleweight titles against Khan for the May 7th bout at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Khan is moving up two weight divisions to middleweight, to fight Canelo Álvarez. The fight is scheduled at a catchweight of 155 lbs.
Khan has spent a good portion of his training camp putting his muscle and increasing his speed for May 7th against the Mexican superstar.

Khan told to ESPN, “Stepping up a couple divisions has definitely given me more muscle and strength. My speed will be a bit better in this fight,” he added,”I’ve got a bit more power. When I throw those shots I will be throwing them with power. Every punch thrown becomes more perfect and the timing will be there.”
The 29-years-old believes he can win in spite of the size difficulty. He said, “I’ve been watching video of Canelo, and day after day it’s getting more and more confident that I can beat this guy.”
The winner of “Canelo vs Khan” is expected to face Gennady Golovkin (GGG) in September in a middleweight title unification bout. Golovkin (35-0, 32 KO) knocked-out Dominic Wade (18-1, 12 KO) on Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California and is now waiting for the May 7th winner. Both Golden Boy Promotions and Alvarez’s camp know that he is the biggest moneymaker boxer right now. Most of the top ranked boxer ignore to fight against the GGG. He easily dispatched every competitor who’s been willing to step in the ring with him.
Specially Khan has no business in this fight. He will fight this bout as underdog. He knows this will be his first fight against someone who is heavier and also a bigger name but khan has strong confidence.
“I know I’m not going to be stronger than him,” Khan said. “It’s the first fight I’m walking into as the underdog and that’s good. Because I can prove to people that this is where I belong.”
By the way, the fight was at a catchweight of 155lb – one pound over the light-middleweight limit – an agreement between Canelo and Khan. Watch Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan on HBO PPV.
